The Fireye MEC230D is a chassis device belonging to the MicroM series combustion control system. It mainly serves as the installation and connection carrier for commercial and industrial burner management systems, and cooperates with matching modules to realize automatic ignition and continuous flame monitoring functions. The detailed product introduction is as follows:
- Basic Information
- Core Functions
- Comprehensive Burner Management: When combined with plug-in amplifier and programmer modules, as well as flame scanners/detectors, it can provide automatic ignition and continuous flame monitoring for commercial heating and process equipment. It is compatible with various fuels and can adapt to different combustion scenarios. Functions such as re-ignition, two-stage combustion, purge timing, and pilot flame cutoff can be flexibly realized by selecting different programmer modules.
- High Safety Protection: It is equipped with a safety detection circuit. If real or simulated flames are detected before startup or during the purge stage, the fuel valve will not be activated, and the device will enter a locked state to avoid potential safety hazards such as deflagration. Meanwhile, the matching amplifier module supports flame failure response times of 0.8 seconds or 3 seconds (maximum 4 seconds), enabling rapid response to flame anomalies.
- Convenient Fault Diagnosis: The supporting programmer module is equipped with intelligent LED indicators, which can display the current operating status of the equipment. When a safety shutdown occurs, it will present faults in the form of coded sequences. With the optional ED510 display, it can also query the last 6 shutdown records and their time stamps, greatly facilitating troubleshooting.
- Product Advantages
- Strong Compatibility: It is backward compatible with existing TFM, UVM and M-Series II control systems, which reduces the transformation cost for users who upgrade old combustion equipment. In addition, it supports various types of flame scanners including ultraviolet, infrared, and flame rod, and can be matched with different amplifier modules to meet diverse flame detection needs.
- Modular Flexibility: It adopts a plug-in modular design. The programmer and amplifier modules can be interchanged. Users can select corresponding modules according to actual needs such as control functions, timing requirements, and flame scanning methods, which has strong application versatility.
- Simplified Operation and Maintenance: The test jacks on the amplifier module can measure flame signal intensity within the range of 0 - 10VDC. Some matching programmer modules (such as MEP500 series) are also equipped with "run-check" switches to help test the size, position and stability of the pilot flame, simplifying the daily debugging and maintenance process.
- Applicable Scenarios
The device is mainly used in the combustion control of commercial - scale heating equipment and industrial process burners, such as boilers, industrial furnaces, and heating furnaces in factories. It is suitable for various fuel combustion scenarios and can be integrated into upper - level energy management and data acquisition systems through the optional Modbus communication function, which is widely used in power plants, chemical plants, and other industrial fields with combustion equipment.
- Auxiliary Matching Requirements
The MEC230D itself is only a chassis and needs to be used with supporting components to form a complete control system. It usually needs to be equipped with flame scanners/detectors, plug-in amplifier modules, and programmer modules. For example, the MEP230 programmer module can set purge timing and pilot ignition trial timing through DIP switches; the amplifier module determines the flame failure response time, and the combination of the two can realize the full - process control of the burner from startup, ignition to stable combustion.
